Selangor Journal

Apology

On November 18, 2021, Selangor Journal had published an article called “Foreign nationals violating Covid-19 SOPs can be deported — Immigration Dept”, which was paired with a picture of Bangladeshi foreign workers. However, the image does not reflect the story’s point, which highlights the deportation of all foreign nationals who violate the country’s Covid-19 SOPs following the issue of foreigners violating the rules that were recently spread on social media.

It was an unfortunate incident that the picture linked to the story we had published insinuated that the report refers to foreign workers and is discriminative, which was not the intention of the news portal.

In hindsight, Selangor Journal should have been more sensitive towards the issue of foreign workers in the country. We are deeply sorry and regret the error of judgement on our part.
