SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — The upcoming Selangor Digital School (SDS) aims to offer digital and technology courses to fulfil market needs, said Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor Menteri Besar said the courses will also be recognised by institutes of higher learning.

He said SDS will be set up by the state government through the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), in collaboration with Universiti Selangor and international foreign capital venture company The Hive.

The Hive was chosen from eight similar organisations, for the Padanan Penjana Nasional Kapital programme under the Finance Ministry.

“With investments coming from the state government and The Hive and alongside the funds from Penjana Nasional, SDS has sufficient capital to position itself as a premium school that can offer experienced trainers, develop a hybrid learning system, and conduct large-scale digital marketing,” Amirudin said during the tabling the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.

The Selangor government has allocated a total of RM2.343 billion under the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022), to be dispersed to the people through five core strategies.

The strategies’ aims include spurring a high-impact economy, building a better delivery system, to grow a caring society and ensure the people’s wellbeing, to strengthen Selangor’s public healthcare system, to create a green environment and practise sustainable development, and to optimise smart technology and digitalisation.
