MB visits Bukit Changgang flood victims, distributes aid

SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari went down on ground to visit flood victims around Bukit Changgang and Bandar Seri Ehsan in Kuala Langat earlier this morning.

He said a total of 1,400 victims have been rescued and placed in several temporary relief centres (PPS) including at Sekolah Rendah Agama Bukit Changgang.

“The state government also distributed basic necessities to the victims in PPS,” Amirudin said on Facebook today.

He added a total of 2,500 residents in Taman Seri Ehsan were stranded because its main road has been flooded since Sunday, necessitating the deployment of lorries and boats to rescue the victims.

“The water and electricity supply remains available. Basic necessities and food packs were distributed to all residents,” Amirudin said.

Unusual heavy rains since Saturday saw more than double the rainfall levels from the previous high of 180mm, which resulted in the inundation of many areas in the state.
