PUTRAJAYA, Dec 11 — The status of the country’s largest sporting event, the 2022 Malaysia Games (Sukma), which is scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, is expected to be announced by the National Sports Council (NSC) at the end of this month.

Federal Territories Sports Council (MSWP) director Dr Hasnul Faizal Hushin Amri said he would submit a working paper regarding the organising of the sports event to be tabled at the Cabinet meeting soon.

“Once we receive a response from the Cabinet, the proposal will be extended to the Technical Committee and later the Sukma Supreme Committee will determine the type of sports, location and budget needed to organise the event.

“MSN would then announce the matter to all states and from there we will begin to re-structure the existing planning,” he said when the opening of the Malaysian Rugby Medical Symposium at Menara Sri Wilayah in Putrajaya here, today.

Dr Hasnul said at the same time he would also announce the proposed locations of the 2022 Sukma which is scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Putrajaya.

But this has not been confirmed yet by the Sukma Supreme Committee.
