Thunderstorm warning in six areas within Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Dec 22 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong wind warning to several areas in Selangor, this morning.

MetMalaysia on Facebook said the bad weather is expected to occur in Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

The agency had also forecasted similar situations to happen in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and several districts in Johor, including Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru.

“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.

“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.

The warning was issued at 9.30am today.
