MetMalaysia: Parts of Selangor predicted to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain until night

SHAH ALAM, Jan 28 — Five districts in the state are expected to undergo heavy rains, strong winds, and thunderstorms today until 9pm tonight, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)

These include Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang.

It said the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory and Negeri Sembilan (Seremban) is also expected to experience the same weather pattern.

The warning was issued when signs of a thunderstorm and rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour was seen on the horizon, both of which are expected to occur over a one-hour duration.

MetMalaysia added that thunderstorm warnings are short-term, which is valid within six hours after it was issued.

Earlier on it predicted that several states on the West Coast of the Peninsular including Selangor will experience thunderstorms and rain, during the evening until early tonight.

The other states include Perak, Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory, Putrajaya Federal Territory, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka, until February 3.
