SHAH ALAM, March 8 — Four districts in Selangor are expected to undergo thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rains until 5pm, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)

In a warning issued at 2pm on Facebook, MetMalaysia said the districts include Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

The agency has also issued warnings of similar weather for other areas including Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Meanwhile, in other states bad weather is also predicted for Kedah (Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Perak (Larut, Matang and Kuala Kangsar); Negeri Sembilan (Seremban); and most areas in Sarawak including Kucing, Serian, Samarahan and Sri Aman).

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
