SHAH ALAM, March 9 — Five districts in Selangor are expected to undergo thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a statement issued by the agency at 4.45pm, MetMalaysia said the three districts include Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat, which will experience bad weather until 7pm.
The two other districts are Klang and Petaling, where similar weather conditions are expected to persist until 8pm tonight.
The agency also forecasted inclement weather for Kuala Lumpur as well as several districts within Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu), Perak (Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan and Bera) and Johor (Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru).
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.
