SHAH ALAM, March 8 — State-owned company KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) said it is conducting operations to clear out drains and highways, as well as collect any refuse following the flood that occurred around Taman Buana in Petaling Jaya today.
It said the operation is also joined by the Petaling Jaya City Council, which will help to troubleshoot any issues in the area.
“Today’s operation is more focused on the activities to clear highways, drains, and any garbage that was carried by the flood waves, in addition to collecting bulk garbage which has been disposed of by residents,” KDEBWM said in a Facebook post.
As of 11am today, approximately 1,215 flood victims have been placed at nine temporary relief centres throughout Selangor.
Those who wish to contact KDEBWM can do so at 1-800-88-2824, or download the iClean Selangor from the Apple App store or the Google Play store, to file any complaints concerning domestic waste collection and public sanitation in the state.
