SHAH ALAM, March 10 — Two Selangor districts are expected to undergo heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms until early tonight, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)
The districts are Gombak and Hulu Langat. MetMalaysia also predicted inclement weather for several other states and areas, including the Kuala Lumpur Territory.
“Perak (Kampar and Hilir Perak) will see heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms, as will Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron and Rompin) and Negeri Sembilan (Seremban and Rembau),” it said in a statement issued at 5.15pm.
In East Malaysia Sarawak’s areas which will be affected by strong weather include Betong (Saratok), Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit (Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau) and Miri (Marudi)
All the aforementioned locations will experience inclement weather until 8pm tonight.
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.
