Three Selangor districts to experience thunderstorms, heavy rains tonight

SHAH ALAM, March 26 — Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor districts are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy showers and strong wind until 9pm tonight.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a post on Facebook said the warning was issued if signs indicate that thunderstorms with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are expected to occur over a one-hour duration.

“The thunderstorm warnings are short-term, with each warning valid within six hours after being issued,” the agency posted at 5.30pm today.

MetMalaysia has also forecasted similar weather conditions in Perlis, Kedah, Penang (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan), Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar), Kelantan (Pasir Mas, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Besut and Hulu Terengganu) and Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Pekan and Rompin).

The agency also expected similar bad weather to take place in parts Negeri Sembilan (Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Jempol), Johor (Kluang, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru) and Sarawak: Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu), Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro) and Kapit (Song and Kapit).
