Buoyed by Selangor Mega Job Fair success, state plans for more career fair

SHAH ALAM, June 27 — Nearly 7,000 individuals have participated in the Selangor Mega Job Fair 2022 organised by the state government which took place on June 11 and 12.

State executive councillor for human capital development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said of the total, more than 280 participants have received employment in various sectors so far.

“We are confident that more participants will gain employment through this programme as we are still waiting for the latest data. We will update the figures from time to time.

“Efforts such as this will be continued in the future to reduce the unemployment rate thus ensuring the welfare of the community,” he told SelangorKini.

The two-day programme was held at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Convention Centre and offered over 20,000 job opportunities.

Over 100 companies took part in the event, including Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS), Daikin Malaysia Sdn Bhd, DHL Express, DRB Hicom Bhd, Giant Malaysia, and Malayan Banking Bhd.

Others include Media Prima Digital, Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton), Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, Shopee Malaysia, Sport Direct MST Sdn Bhd, and Toyota Auto Body Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
