Frequent headache, migraine? Join free health checks this weekend — Exco

SHAH ALAM, June 10 — Individuals who constantly experience headaches and migraines are advised to undergo an immediate health check-up as they are likely to suffer from high blood pressure.

Therefore state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud invites those who have the symptoms in Hulu Langat, Kuala Selangor dan Kuala Langat to undergo health screenings via the Selangor Saring programme this weekend.

The free programme will be held tomorrow at the Dewan Lembah Jaya for the Lembah Jaya and Bukit Antarabangsa state constituencies.

While on Sunday it will be held at the Dewan Wawasan Kampung Medan for the Sijangkang state constituency and the Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Seri Tiram Jaya for the Permatang and Sungai Burong state constituencies.

Dr Siti Mariah informed that 30 per cent of the state’s population aged 18 and above were reported to have high blood pressure.

“Individuals can register to undergo the health screening through the SELangkah app.

“The screenings are offered based on the individual risk factor evaluation via the early screening on the SELangkah app,” she said.

The state government has allocated RM3.4 million for Selangor Saring, which is expected to benefit up to 39,000 Selangor residents, particularly those with a family history of ailments, obese individuals, and those leading unhealthy lifestyles.

Running from May 22 to September 4, the programme offers physical screenings, blood and urine tests, optical, cervical and breast cancer tests, as well as colorectal and prostate cancer tests.
