SHAH ALAM, July 20 — The application period for the Menteri Besar’s Special Scholarship, which opened on July 4, has been extended to July 31.

The state government’s human resource management division chief assistant secretary (Policy) Mazhan Mujail said the closing date for applications, initially on July 15, was extended due to technical problems with the online system.

“However, for variable loan applications in the country, the closing date will still be until the end of this month on July 31.

“To date, we have received 100 complete applications for variable loans in the country while another 1,048 are still at the draft stage,” he told SelangorKini.

Mazhan encouraged Selangor youths to take advantage of the opportunity offered by applying at https://tkwbns.selangor.gov.my or https://danapendidikan.selangor.gov.my

“We are aiming for 2,000 applications this year compared to the 1,500 obtained last year.

“I call upon Selangor youths who are eligible to seize this unique chance as this loan has no interest rate other than an automatic 50 per cent discount if the applicant has a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 and above,” he said.

Among the conditions for applying is that the applicant or his/her parents must be born in Selangor or are residents in the state for over 10 years.

The allocation from the Selangor Scholarship Fund is offered to diploma, bachelor and medical degree students.
