High tides to strike Port Klang tomorrow, residents warned to be alert

SHAH ALAM, Sept 10 — Klang residents are advised to be alert for the high tide phenomenon which is expected to occur starting tomorrow until Wednesday between 6am and 8am.

Klang District Disaster Management Committee informed that the phenomenon that will occur during the northeast monsoon has the potential to cause floods and damage bunds.

“Monitor the latest information on weather conditions and follow instructions from the government agencies in charge.

“The Klang District Disaster Operations Centre will be activated from Sunday, September 11, 2022,” said the committee in a statement shared on Facebook.

The same phenomenon is also predicted to occur on September 27 to 29 between 6am and 8am.

Based on the shared infographic, the Port Klang Station is expected to record seawater level readings rising up to 5.5 metres.
