Selangor continues to channel aid, help people live better lives

PETALING JAYA, Sept 10 — The Selangor government will continue providing various incentives and assistance to the people to ensure they live better lives.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said since 2008, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state government has continued to make amendments, changes or improvements for the people’s needs in addition to prioritising the people’s welfare.

“We want to make sure that nobody is left behind in this state. We have 42 aid programmes through the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) package. Most recently we announced the Insurans Hayat Selangor (Insan) scheme.

“We are the only state that cares for its people’s fate. We have a huge state reserve, which is why we want to help the people. We want to instill the spirit of compassion and love among the people,” he said at the Pentas Anak Muda event organised by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) youth wing Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) here last night.

The ISP assistance package provided by the state government covers 12 family welfare programmes, health (10), education (eight), housing (seven) and employment (five) with an allocation of over RM600 million.

The scheme that replaced the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR) also introduced 11 new incentives including the free health screening Selangor Saring, Iltizam Anak Penyayang, Selangor Cancer (CanSEL) screening and Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat).

The state government also launched Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Sejahtera (Bingkas), replacing Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (KISS) which will benefit 30,000 families.
