State govt committed to safeguarding people’s welfare

SHAH ALAM, Sept 9 — The state government is offering 42 people-oriented programmes through Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) in its efforts to safeguard the people’s welfare.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the effort showed the state government’s commitment and determination toward fulfilling the people’s needs according to the current situation.

“The state government practices fairness and equality in protecting all levels of society.

“The fullest commitment is given to help the community from all aspects including economy, social and educational without leaving anyone behind,” he said on Facebook.

He added that Selangor constantly adapts to various challenges in order to remain developed and sustainable thus being able to return the state’s revenue to the people.

Amirudin explained that the effort also proved to be profitable as Selangor remained the largest contributor to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

The ISP covers 12 family welfare programmes, health (10), education (eight), housing (seven) and employment (five) with an allocation of over RM600 million.

In addition to introducing new programmes for the welfare of the people, the initiative also improved the existing benefits according to the target group.
