RAWANG, Oct 21 — The Batu Arang Special Area Plan (RKK) Draft 2030 outlines a total of 49 development projects that will bring a long-term impact on the Gombak district’s economic development.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said out of the total, 11 are high-impact projects, 21 are support projects and the remaining are quick wins, which are expected to be executed soon.

“This reflects the state government’s full commitment that is inclusive. We wish to see the state’s growth and development not just concentrated in the cities.

“We explore each locality and identify the potential that exists there,” he said in his opening speech at the publicity and public participation event of the Batu Arang Draft RKK 2030 at the Batu Arang Gallery, here today.

Amirudin said the state administration is committed to strengthening urban and rural planning elements based on state, local and special area structural plans.

“Development plans must be carried out with integrity, efficiency and transparency to produce a hospitable and sustainable environment of high quality for the present and future generations,” he said.

Meanwhile, Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) president Mohd Yazid Sairi said that the 17 quick win projects will be carried out in collaboration with the technical department and stakeholders through privatisation.

“MPS will implement the proposed development, which will be in several phases, focusing on several tourist hotspots and the central city area.

“It will concentrate on creating facilities and infrastructure for the locals’ long-term benefit and comfort,” he said.
