Everyone’s fate protected regardless of race if PH is elected — Anwar

KUALA SELANGOR, Oct 27 — The fate of the people in this country, including the minorities will be protected should Pakatan Harapan (PH) be elected as government.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the coalition does not engage in favouritism because that carries the characteristics of an ignorant society.

“People have been asking, why we collaborate with the Democratic Action Party (DAP). If DAP was not part of the coalition, they would still support us. I would like you to understand that if I were to lead the country, I won’t be leading only the Malays.

“Majority of the Malays, especially the poor Malays, all will be assisted. The Chinese are a part of us, our family, our neighbours. Therefore, we cannot disregard them,” he said when delivering his speech at the Jelajah Mega Harapan Selangor, here last night.

The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president added that he is proud if the country has a Malay leader who is firm in defending the fate of everyone.

“Are we proud of leaders who only protect their children and family? No, I am not.

“I will be proud of Malay leaders who stand by other races such as the Chinese, Indians, Kadazans or Ibans. Leaders who protect the people’s fate. We will be proud of that,” he said.
