SHAH ALAM, Oct 14 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has identified several locations that would be utilised as temporary vehicle parking spaces if flooding occurs in several flood-prone areas within the district.

The local council said the step was taken to prevent and reduce the risk of property damage during floods.

“Following the MBSJ Disaster Relief Strategic Operation Plan in facing the northeast monsoon, organised on October 5, we have identified several locations to be used as temporary vehicle parking areas for affected victims.

“Residents in risky areas are urged to utilise the proposed locations so that it would help the disaster management process for the enforcement and safety personnel,” it said on Facebook.

The locations are divided into five zones, namely Subang Jaya, Kota Kemuning, Sri Serdang, Seri Kembangan and Kinrara.

For further information, contact MBSJ Control Centre at 03-80247700, from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department predicted that Selangor would be facing the northeast monsoon with average rainfall between 100 to 400 millimetres (mm) beginning mid of this month until December.
