SHAH ALAM, Oct 13 — The Selangor government’s plans to continue administering the state and safeguarding the well-being of its people was presented by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during an audience with Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj on Tuesday.

The Selangor Ruler’s private secretary, Datuk Muhamad Munir Bani, said in a statement today that recent media reports on the Sultan’s consent on the state administration’s decision to not dissolve the state legislative assembly were inaccurate.

“On October 11, the Menteri Besar did not present a request to dissolve the Selangor State Legislative Assembly and he intends to continue administering the state government.

“Sultan Sharafuddin was informed of the stance and His Royal Highness hopes that the Selangor’s development plan can be continued for the benefit of the people,” the statement read.

On Monday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament, which paves the way for the 15th general election (GE15).

Following that, the Election Commission said that it will hold a special meeting to discuss and set the important dates relating to the GE15 on October 20.
