KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 — The state government will continue providing networking opportunities such as the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS), which has proven to be one of the biggest and successful business summits ever held in the region.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said in addition to promoting Selangor as the gateway to Asean, the main objective of organising the large-scale trade show is to bring together manufacturers, traders, importers, investors, and other stakeholders in a single event.

“Through its various conferences and exhibitions, I truly believe that SIBS will provide the best opportunities for you to engage and network in-person with partners and industry experts, and to expand your business into the Asean region.

“I hope the participants could take full advantage of these opportunities throughout the four-day of the summit, and I am sure many deals will be struck in no time,” he said when delivering his speech during the opening ceremony of the SIBS 2022 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, here today.

The sixth edition of the business summit was officiated by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah. Also present was state executive councillor for investment, industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.

The summit will be held for four days, from October 6 to 9, featuring six main events including
the Selangor International Expo (SIE) (F&B) 2022, SIE (Medic), Selangor Asean Business Conference, Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention, Selangor R&D and Innovation Expo and Selangor Industrial Park Expo.

The Menteri Besar had also thanked the participating partners, including the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, the sponsors, business leaders and industry associations.

“I would also like to thank all participating countries and other state governments who are participating in SIBS 2022.

“Most importantly, I would like to express my gratitude for your presence and participation, which makes SIBS 2022 a success. I truly appreciate your participation and commitment to reach higher and further for the success of your business,” he said.
