GE15: Harapan believes in sharing wealth, no populist decisions — MB

By Sulyn Chong

SHAH ALAM, Nov 8 — The Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) coalition believes in sharing of wealth among the people and that making right decisions that are not based on populist ideas is the right way to govern and advance Malaysia.

Harapan’s Gombak parliamentary seat candidate for the 15th general election (GE15) Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that it is important for the coalition to be able to understand the ecosystem of the nation as a whole.

“We need to understand the whole ecosystem of the nation, not just a small part of the problem. We need to look at the crux of it and solve that.

“This is why I feel responsible to stand in Gombak and defend its rights and that of the nation. Hopefully, I am able to clear the vices created by the previous government,” he said this during a hi-tea session with Gombak youths at Coffee Box in Sri Gombak, earlier today.

Also present was Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) president and Harapan’s Muar parliamentary seat candidate Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

Amirudin, who is also the Selangor Menteri Besar, had explained that there are many initiatives and programmes available in the state for the benefit of the people.

“Selangor has offered many benefits to the people of this state, such as the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy state subsidiary, Sihat Selangor schemes, and the Selangor Special Needs Children programme, among many others.

“I hope we can elevate these programmes to the Federal level, so everyone can enjoy them,” he said.

The candidate also hopes to fight for a better future and a better Malaysia, if Harapan wins GE15.

“Should we win the election, I hope to be able to present better policies that will push Malaysia’s progress forward. We will fight injustice and tyranny in the nation, as well as corruption.

“Most importantly, we want to eliminate suspicions towards each other by defending the Constitution, whereby we respect the King and Islam, but also respect other religions, as per the Constitution,” he said.

Amirudin expressed deep regret at the fact there are certain parties who play ‘racial politics’ to divide the people.

“They often provoke and enflame our hearts with politics that arouse anger, cause us to suspect one another and excessive fear-mongering. This is not the right way and such practices should be stamped out,” he said.

Hence, Amirudin said he is ready to create history again in this election with a Harapan win and wishes to continue with the endeavours the coalition did not manage to complete beforehand.

“The vote is in your hand. Power is in your hand. So, use it wisely and we can craft our future together,” he concluded.
