Inclement weather throughout Selangor until 5pm — MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — Thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds are expected throughout Selangor until 5pm today, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a warning issued at 1.05pm, the agency said similar weather conditions are also anticipated in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan and Malacca.

“Inclement weather is also expected for several other areas namely Perak (Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim) and Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Maran and Bera).

Strong weather is also forecasted in most parts of East Malaysia namely Sarawak: Kuching, Serian, Miri (Miri and Marudi) and Limbang, as well as Sabah: Pedalaman (Sipitang and Beaufort), Pantai Barat (Papar, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran) and Tawau (Lahad Datu).

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding an hour for a single release.
