GE15: Sungai Besar folks to benefit from Saipolyazan’s expertise

By Alang Bendahara

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) candidate for the Sungai Besar parliamentary seat Saipolyazan M Yusop has what it takes to bring the voice of the people to the Parliament.

Using skills from his tenure as former chief executive officer (CEO) of Selangor Zakat Board (LZS), Saipolyazan seems to be at ease when meeting the villagers, fishermen, business community, and people from all races during his campaigning.

“I met many voters who expressed their dissatisfaction with the previous Federal government administration, which lacked concern over the rising cost of living that affected the people’s livelihood.

“The paddy farmers and fishermen shared the problems and difficulties they faced. While the villagers complained about the lack of infrastructure. So, we took note of it all and will announce an action plan (tawaran) that will benefit all the people in Sungai Besar soon,” he said when met during a walkabout session in Sekinchan town on Nov 8.

Saipolyazan said tawaran will cover aspects such as economics, infrastructure, tourism, the food industry and more.

The plan will also utilise his vast working experience as a former UEM Edgenta Bhd country head (Saudi Arabia), CEO of Edgenta Arabia Limited, Asset and Facilities Management head of Binladen Group (Alborj International), Advanced Maintenance Precision Management Sdn Bhd group operating officer, Celcom Malaysia Planning and Development (Central Region) head, Telekom Malaysia International Ventures assistant manager and Petronas electrical engineer.

He also dismissed the issue of him being an outsider and stated that his maternal grandmother was from Sungai Besar and had lived there for several years before his parents moved to become Felda settlers in Bota, Perak, where he was born.

“Despite my family later moving to Sungai Buloh, we still have relatives in Sungai Besar and Tanjung Karang … we are connected to this place. So, I hope the voters in Sungai Besar will make the right choice by voting for the party that can bring stability to the country and bring Malaysia out of its economic plights,” he said.
