SHAH ALAM, Dec — Three art workshops organised by the Shah Alam Gallery in conjunction with the school holiday were met with overwhelming responses.
Its assistant curator Nur Syafiqah Zainal said 20 slots of the ceramic and paint workshop were fully booked within three days since the application was opened.
“Painting workshops for children, The Starry Night and Dreamy Skies were fully booked within a day while painting workshops slots for teenagers’ (The Starry Night and Semangat Ledang) were fully taken up within two days.
“As for the ceramic workshop, the slots were opened to all ages and it was full within three days,” she told SelangorKini.
She added that the outdoor workshop conducted at the Shah Alam Lake Park received encouraging support due to its casual and conducive environment in addition to low entrance fees.
“The actual registration fee was RM75, however, the participants only need to pay RM50 while the remaining was borne by the Shah Alam Gallery, including painting tools and breakfast,” she said.
Nur Syafiqah said the gallery plans to organise more workshops next year, to conduct at least one workshop every month.
“We plan to look for a bigger location so that the participants could have a better learning session,” she said.
