MB joins over 5,000 fans to watch first AFF Cup semi-final match

SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari joins over 5,000 fans to watch the first semi-final of the 2022 AFF Cup at Dataran Kemerdekaan in Shah Alam yesterday.

He arrived at 9.58pm to watch the screening of the match between Malaysia and Thailand on the big screen that was set up there.

Also present were Selangor State Secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim and Shah Alam Mayor Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid.

Amirudin also presented lucky draw prizes of Harimau Malaya jerseys to three lucky supporters who attended last night.

A total of 14 big screens were set up in various locations across the country yesterday for football fans to watch the match’s live broadcast.

Malaysia advanced to the semi-finals as Group B runners-up with nine points, after beating Singapore 4-1.

After the match in Bukit Jalil, the Harimau Malaya squad will leave for Bangkok for the semi-final second leg against the War Elephants at Thammasat Stadium, Bangkok, on January 10.
