13 programmes slated for Kembara Perpaduan @ Kampus to boost character, unity among students

SHAH ALAM, April 17 — A total of 13 programmes under Kembara Perpaduan @ Kampus will be held throughout this year with the concept of Unity In Diversity, aimed to strengthen the character and spirit of unity among students in institutions of higher education.

The National Unity Ministry said the programme, organised with the cooperation of the Selangor branch of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), and Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) was launched by its minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang at UiTM’s Puncak Alam campus, earlier today.

“The programmes will be jointly mobilised by YSS and the Rukun Negara secretariat throughout Malaysia. The collaboration will be expanded with the involvement of youth agencies including Institute of Leadership Excellence and Development (i-LEAD), youth associations and non-governmental organisations,” he said in a statement.

The programmes include Unity Discussion: Madani Youth Chit Chat; National level Unity Debate; Rukun Negara pledge and Social Integration between SRN (INSAN); Unity Camp; 1 Million Bunga Raya Planting Campaign; Empowering Economy in Communities and ‘Diversity basis of Unity, Strength for Nation’ (KAPKUN) natural environment exploration.

The ministry added that the programmes would be implemented based on the Malaysia MADANI Unity Tour’s three main clusters, Semarak Kenegaraan; Semarak Perpaduan; and RAHMAH community programme.

YSS is a machinery under the ministry that acts to assist it and department programmes in public and private universities, especially activities under the Kembara Perpaduan @ Kampus programme.
