SHAH ALAM, April 29 — Selangor Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) and Barisan Nasional (BN) will finalise seat allocations for the upcoming state elections tomorrow.

Selangor Harapan chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the central leadership of the two coalitions will be informed of the outcome of the negotiations in order to move forward with the following process.

“The negotiations are proceeding well, and tomorrow, InsyaAllah (God willing), I will finalise it before bringing them to the central leadership, which I hope they will conclude soon.

“The decision has to be made by the central leadership, state (level) only hold the discussions and agree (on seat distributions), ensuring that there would be no disputes.

“There are overlaps (of Harapan and BN seats)… but I believe that it is only about 20 per cent of it that needs to be resolved,” he said when met at the MBSA Convention Centre, here today.

Speaking at the Hari Raya open house organised by the Shah Alam parliament constituency, Batu Tiga and Kota Anggerik state constituencies, the Selangor Menteri Besar said that the discussions on the seat allocations were conducted in an open and transparent manner.

“The discussion (on distribution) of seats will not conclude until the day of nomination, but we will hold an open, transparent and honest discussion in various aspects,” he said.

Previously, it was reported that Selangor Harapan and BN will finalise talks on the seat allocations as late as early May.
