221 receive awards, medals in conjunction with Selangor Sultan’s birthday

SHAH ALAM, May 22 A total of 221 individuals from the Petaling and Klang districts were conferred awards and medals in an investiture ceremony held in conjunction with the 77th birthday of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.

The awards and medals presentation ceremony was conducted by the Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, representing the Selangor Ruler, at the Dewan Jubli Perak, here today.

In the ceremony, 25 individuals were awarded with Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT) and 42 received Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC).

Meanwhile, there were 136 recipients of Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and 17 recipients of Perkhidmatan Selangor (PPS).

The PPT is awarded to individuals who performed commendable acts and demonstrated exemplary performance, while the PPC is awarded to government officials who have displayed excellence in support services and have served for at least seven years with the state government.

The PJK is awarded to individuals who have dedicated their service to Selangor, displaying diligence, obedience, exceptional abilities, and good character.

Whereas, the PPS is granted to government employees who are currently serving or have served for 20 years with the state government, demonstrating exemplary conduct.

The ceremony was attended by State Secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim and several members of the State Executive Council.

The conferment of the awards and medals will continue tomorrow for recipients from the districts of Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, and Sepang.
