Radhakrishnan elected Asian Dodgeball Federation president

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — Malaysian Association of Dodgeball (MAD) President Datuk V. Radhakrishnan has been appointed as the Asian Dodgeball Federation (DBFA) president.

Radhakrishnan, who also serves as the Malaysia Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (MAGGA) deputy president, said the win at the recent election was a great honour and recognition for him and the country.

“It is a validation that all efforts thus far have not been in vain and have not gone unnoticed. I forever pledge my commitment to the role and promise to bring the great game of dodgeball to greater heights in the region,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, MAD in the same statement said the World Dodgeball Federation (WDBF) had conducted the election privately due to the request for transparency and clean polls by its members.

“The 15 member nations of the DBFA took to the polls and emailed in their votes to the DBFA in a special call for the world body to privately conduct the election. The WDBF then tabulated the votes through a confidential proceeding and announced its victors,” it said.

The WBDF also congratulated Radhakrishnan on the victory, saying it is also looking forward to forging closer ties with the Asian and Malaysian dodgeball governing bodies.

Radhakrishnan is no stranger to the Malaysian sports industry spanning four decades, currently serving as President of the Malaysian Indian Badminton Association (MIBA). He was formerly the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) vice-president.
