Sentosa spends over RM350,000 to repair school facilities, organise education progs

SHAH ALAM, July 12 — The Sentosa state constituency has allocated approximately RM200,000 to repair and upgrade school infrastructure in its area.

Its incumbent state assemblyman Dr G Gunaraj said 18 schools have since received the benefits, including religious schools.

Similarly, RM150,000 has also been channelled to organise education programmes and donations.

“Among the school facilities that were successfully given a new look include the field, walkways, roofs, and halls.

“May the students and teachers make the most of these repairs and upgrades, and avoid engaging in vandalism,” he told SelangorKini yesterday.

Meanwhile, Dr Gunaraj said education remains an issue he focuses on, so as to ensure Sentosa’s children are not left behind.

“One successful instance is the educational track programme, which helps illiterate children aged seven to 12 learn how to spell and read.

“Currently, we have helped over 30 children, who can now read and spell by themselves. We also carried out a training programme for students who will sit for the SPM examinations.

“Every year, Sentosa takes the opportunity to organise educational programme, in collaboration with several non-governmental organisations, teachers, and lecturers. This is all for the future of the children in the state constituency,” he said.
