HULU LANGAT, July 29 — Incumbent Sungai Ramal state assemblyman Mazwan Johar is optimistic he can defend his seat in the Selangor State Election, which falls on August 12.

Contending on the Pakatan Harapan ticket, he is confident in his track record of serving residents and resolving various local issues in the last term will see him through.

“My campaign is based on facts, not sentiments. So I invite voters to look at my Facebook page, where my work record from 2018 until today can be seen.

“This is in comparison to the record of my opponent Mohd Shafie Ngah (Perikatan Nasional), as he also served as a representative (for Bangi) from 2013 to 2018,” he said.

Mazwan was speaking to SelangorKini during the candidate nomination at Dewan Utama Demesne in the Hulu Langat District and Land Office earlier today, where he is one of two candidates for the seat.

During the 14th general election in 2018, Mazwan recorded approximately 24,591 votes, defeating the other two candidates, PAS’ Nushi Mahfooz and Barisan Nasional’s Abdul Rahim Mohd Amin.
