SHAH ALAM, Aug 22 — State executive councillor Ng Sze Han has lambasted Taman Medan assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin after the opposition lawmaker took issue with a parking compound he received over the weekend.

In a video uploaded on his TikTok account, Ng clarified Dr Afif was issued the ticket from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) as his vehicle was obstructing traffic along Jalan Othman.

“For the record, that is a very busy area. As such, MBPJ has to make sure traffic is always smooth. It was just carrying out its duties and responsibilities,” Ng said.

Ng’s comment came after Dr Afif posted on TikTok to complain about the parking compound he received on Sunday while doing his grocery shopping at the Jalan Othman market in Petaling Jaya Old Town.

The Bersatu leader lamented the area lacks parking space, especially during the weekends, and said he has received similar complaints from the public.

Ng, however, reminded Dr Afif there are plenty of other parking spots available, including a 169-bay parking complex adjacent to the market.

“Based on my check, on Sunday morning between 3am and 9am, only 31 cars entered the parking complex.

“Next time you (Dr Afif) head over to Jalan Othman, please look for parking in the complex beside the market. Don’t park on the shoulder of the road, or you will be issued with a compound again.”
