SHAH ALAM, 16th August – The Selangor Worker Empowerment Unit’s (UPPS) Selangor Jelajah Jaminan Kerja (JobCare) tour is back for its second series, and the tour is all set to begin in the Petaling district on August 26.

JobCare tour chief coordinator Vijayan Subramaniam said that 20 companies, spanning from diverse economic sectors, will be taking part to offer job opportunities to Selangor residents during this tour

“Owing to the encouraging response from the public during the first series, we’ve expanded the tour to cover nine districts this time around. We initially intended to commence on July 22, but due to the state elections, it got pushed to a later date.

“Now, we are ready to roll on August 26. Our mission remains clear, to bridge the gap between job seekers and potential employers by assisting them in matching with the right companies,” Vijayan said.

On a different note, the UPPS is taking an initiative towards road safety by initiating a safe riding course, said Vijayan.

The new initiative is scheduled for this Saturday at the Safety Driving Centre in Petaling Jaya and this course, expecting a participation of 100 on-call workers, primarily aims at enhancing road safety among motorcyclists, said Vijayan.

“There’s a pressing concern with the rising number of accidents involving motorcyclists.

“Through this course, our objective is to instill a sense of responsibility and caution among riders, which we believe will eventually lead to a decline in the rate of such accidents,” he said.
