KTMB prepares more trains for state polls, school break

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) is providing two more ETS trains for the Padang Besar-KL Sentral route in conjunction with the state elections and school holiday.

In a statement today, KTMB said the additional trains will operate from August 11 to 13 for the state polls, and from August 25 to September 3 for the school break.

The statement said tickets for the additional trains will be sold from 10am tomorrow. The extra Padang Besar-KL Sentral trips depart at 11am and arrive at 4.36pm, while the KL Sentral-Padang Besar trips leave at 5.05pm and arrive at 10.34pm.

It said there will be 630 tickets available daily for the additional trains, bringing the total to 8,190 tickets, including for business class seats.

Sixty-eight per cent of ETS tickets have been sold as of today, it said.

It advised the public to buy the tickets via the KTMB mobile app or its official website.
