MBI instils patriotism through charitable activities

SHAH ALAM, Aug 16 — Three schools in Selangor received a total of RM50,000 in donations through the Konvoi Merdeka Perpaduan Bangunan Darul Ehsan programme, which took place earlier today.

The donations from Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI were delivered by a convoy of 10 vehicles and 60 participants.

Its chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said the three selected schools include SK Bandar Anggerik which received RM10,000; SMK Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (RM30,000), and Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Tengku Ampuan Jemaah (RM10,000).

The programme, held in collaboration with the Selangor Information Department, was also enlivened by several activities, such as the singing of patriotic songs to instil a sense of patriotism in students.

“Investing in the education sector is crucial for Selangor MBI because it can help develop the nation. That is why we decided to go to these schools and make donations,” Norita told reporters after flagging off the convoy.

The convoy, which was also held in conjunction with MBI’s 29th anniversary, was the largest and involved the participation of the tenants of the Darul Ehsan Building.
