HULU LANGAT, Aug 25 — Some facilities have been provided at the temporary market site in Semenyih, to accommodate the 39 wet and dry market traders who were relocated to the area.
Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) President Najmuddin Jemain said the provided facilities include storage space for frozen refrigerators, restrooms, and prayer rooms for both men and women.
“Also, parking spaces for traders and visitors have also been provided. The council always takes into consideration and cares about the complaints and needs of traders at the temporary Semenyih market, so they can continue their businesses,” he said.
Najmuddin was speaking at the eighth monthly MPKj meeting at Menara MPKj, which he chaired earlier today.
He added that on the redevelopment of the new Semenyih public market, the council is taking steps to ensure the project proceeds smoothly, including by addressing any land acquisition issues.
In September last year, MPKj issued letters on the relocation of traders to the temporary Semenyih market, to make way for the market’s upgrading works.
Meanwhile, Najmuddin advised property owners to settle their assessment taxes for the second half of this year, before August 31, to avoid seizure by the council.
“Online reviews and payments can be made at https://ebayar.mpkj.gov.my/ebayar, and there will no longer be any postal delivery of MPKj assessment bills,” he said.
