Taman Selayang flood retention pond to be finished by Nov — MB

GOMBAK, Aug 10 — The flooding in several areas of the Sungai Tua state constituency will be resolved once the flood mitigation project in Taman Selayang, Batu Caves, is completed by November this year.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari stated the process of relocating workshops in the area is being carried out, before the flood retention pond begins construction.

“Yesterday evening there was a flood… some have criticised the fact it still occurs. But I must state the flood occurred because our flood mitigation project yet to be completed.

“When will it be completed? In October or November. Why did we wait to finish it? Because we have to relocate the workshops over there.

InsyaAllah, flooding in the area will be resolved once we complete the retention pond in the vicinity of SK Taman Selayang’s area,” he said.

Amirudin, who is Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for Sungai Tua, was speaking in a ceramah during the #ArusMerahKuning Festival at Dataran Sungai Tua yesterday night.

Meanwhile, in his capacity as Selangor Harapan chairman, he hopes Sungai Tua’s voters will come out to vote on Saturday (August 12) and continue to support him as their representative.

“August 12 is our future…do not refrain from voting but instead continue to support Harapan and me, as was the case in the previous term.

“In so doing, we will certainly carry both Selangor and Sungai Tua on the wave of progress,” Amirudin said.
