SHAH ALAM, Sept 16 — The dreams and aspirations that led to the formation of Malaysia on September 16,1963 still moves the country today, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari in a note on social media.

In wishing Malaysians a Happy Malaysia Day, he recounted the words and prayers of the late Tunku Abdul Rahman: “Now, we welcome the establishment of Malaysia. I pray that God will bless this country with eternal peace and happiness for all the people.”

“These were the words that gave voice to the shared dream of 10 million Malaysians, on September 16, 1963. Words that inspired the establishment of Malaysia as a newly independent nation country with global aspirations.”

“Today, we can smile and be proud. But it is not for us to be complacent, because there is still a tomorrow and we still have a long way to go.” the Gombak MP said.

He added that regardless of a person’s background, Malaysians should continue to band together and help each other like a family.

He also implored Malaysians to continue maintaining the country’s prosperity, peace and success.

“This is because Malaysia’s success is our success.”
