Selangor Aerospace Park will make state Asean hub — MB

SHAH ALAM, Sept 24 — The state government will implement the Selangor Aerospace Park (SAP) development to turn Selangor into a global aerospace hub, mainly for Southeast Asia.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the park in Sepang will measure at 2,000 acres, and will be equipped with various aerospace engineering facilities.

“One of Selangor’s aspirations is strategically leading the aerospace industry via the Selangor First Plan (RS-1) and the Selangor Aerospace Action Plan.

Alhamdulillah, this aspiration has also found its place in the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030),” he said in a Facebook post today.

Amirudin added that the aerospace industry can potentially drive Malaysia’s economic growth while simultaneously creating high-quality job opportunities.

“By 2030, I believe nearly 70 per cent of the aviation industry in Malaysia will be based in Selangor,” he said.

NIMP 2030, one of the main components of the Madani Economy framework promoted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, aims to secure RM55.2 billion in industry revenue by 2030.

Its emphasis on innovation and technology in the aerospace sector will enhance the industry’s competitiveness and attract further investments and industry partnerships.
