Takaful Ikhlas fulfils PKBs dream of enjoying clean water

Takaful Nasional chief executive officer Datuk Rudy Rodzila Che Lamin said the programme was implemented in collaboration with geological and geophysical research, and the tube well construction by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

“This is part of the activities under the Takaful Ikhlas syariah-compliant fundraising initiative, Ikhlas Barakah House (IBH), to increase the distribution of clean water resources to the community.

“I was informed that PKB is often used as a temporary evacuation centre when the surrounding area is hit by floods, so the supply of clean water from this tube well will not only be enjoyed by PKB staff and students, but also by the surrounding community,” he said.

He said this to reporters after officiating the well at PKB in Kok Lanas here, which was also attended by the Yayasan Canselor UKM director, Prof Dr Faizal Mohamed.

Rudy Rodzila said that the well, with a depth of 100 metres, produces water which can meet the needs of 5,000 users daily.

He added that the programme could also boost the research activities and expertise of educators and students of institutions of higher learning in this country further, bringing benefits to society, takaful industry and in the education field.

In the meantime, he said that the IBH fund was established to generate positive community development and sustainability, through financial assistance and activities, including community involvement.

Rudy Rodzila said their main focus is to empower the fields of education, economy, society, health and the environment.

He said until today, IBH has channelled more than RM5 million through 67 successful initiatives.
