Klang still records unhealthy air quality at 9am

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — Klang in Selangor continued to record an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) as of 9am today with a reading of 154.

According to the Department of Environment Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) website, 51 areas recorded moderate API levels, while 16 others had good readings.

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates the air quality is good, a reading of between 51 and 100 indicates the air quality is moderate, reading of between 101 and 200 is unhealthy, while reading of between 201 and 300 is considered very unhealthy and reading above 300, is hazardous.

The API data is released every hour, based on the readings at 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide.
