SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — The distribution of input assistance for crops, equipment, and raw materials to recipients of the state government’s incentives will be finalised next week.

Koperasi Warga Hijrah Selangor Berhad (KoHijrah) managing director Mohammad Syukri Ismail said a meeting was held with the relevant agencies on Tuesday (October 3) to discuss the requirements, including the list of recipients.

“During the meeting, some of the identified forms of assistance include 100kg of fertiliser for farmers, while fishermen will receive probiotics, water quality testing kits, and several other necessities.

“The recipients who will receive these benefits were recommended by the agencies and are registered with them and who have not received any prior assistance,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

Syukri added the final meeting will be held next week with other relevant agencies, like the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM), for decisions regarding distribution and the list of recipients.

On Tuesday, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said 500 crop farmers, livestock farmers, aquaculturists, basic agricultural industry players, and fishermen would receive a RM1,000 incentive to boost their production rates.

The payment will be made in cash, with RM500 given upfront, while the rest will be provided via input assistance for plants, equipment, and raw materials, which will be delivered on October 31.

He said the incentives will be distributed in cooperation with Agro Bank Selangor and KoHijrah.

This is part of the five main commitments within the first 100 days of the Selangor administration’s term, as the Selangor State Executive Council decided.
