Sehat the way to help treat mental health issues — MB

SHAH ALAM, Oct 10 — The state government remains aware of the issues related to mental health, as it offers the Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat) programme to address them, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

It offers early screening services, helplines, subsidies for psychiatric treatment, module development, counsellor training, and expert services for Selangor residents in need, all accessible via the SELangkah app.

“World Mental Health Day 2023 celebrates the right of every individual to have good mental health under the theme Mental Health is a Universal Human Right.

“Let us raise awareness about the importance of mental health in our community. Happy World Mental Health Day 2023!” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

On July 2, then-state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said Sehat had handled around 200 cases related to mental health through its screening processes, providing five treatment sessions with clinical psychologists or psychiatrists.
