22 production companies receive FINAS incentive of almost RM2mln

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 — The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) today handed over Feature Film Screening Incentive 2.0 (ITFC 2.0) totalling almost RM2 million to 22 production companies.

ITFC is an initiative of the Communications and Digital Ministry (KKD) through Finas to help and encourage film producers to produce local feature films, indirectly generating the development of the film industry through promotion and industry strategies to industry practitioners.

Finas chief executive officer Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib said the companies successfully produced 22 feature film titles registered through the Mandatory Screening Scheme.

“This initiative can help producers as well as encourage domestic film industry practitioners to continue producing more feature films,” he said after handing over the incentive here.

He also called on film industry practitioners to produce quality films without neglecting the country’s identity.

This will promote the richness of culture, talent and creativity in the industry, he added.
