SHAH ALAM, Dec 7 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has extended his condolences to the family of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, who was found dead yesterday evening after a lengthy search following his disappearance.
In a Facebook post, he also recited the customary Muslim prayer of Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (we belong to Allah and to Him we return).
“Condolences to the family of the late Zayn Rayyan. May his soul be blessed, his sins forgiven, and may he be placed in paradise,” Amirudin said.
Similarly, the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) also offered condolences to the deceased’s family. In a X (formerly known as Twitter) post, it said no words can be expressed.
“Al-Fatihah to Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, all LZS personnel offer their condolences to his family.
“May Allah SWT grant strength and endurance to his family in dealing with this trial,” it said.
The autistic six-year-old was last seen in his house at Block R, Apartment Idaman, Jalan PJU 10/1 Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya, at 12pm on Tuesday (December 5). A police report on his disappearance was lodged at 6.36pm on the same day.
After a search-and-rescue operation carried out by the police with assistance from members of the public, Zayn’s remains were found in a stream in Damansara Damai at around 10pm yesterday night.
The press quoted Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid at the scene as saying his body was sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem.
