SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has organised a public dialogue session to gather feedback on a systematic and efficient traffic management plan towards creating a world-class city.
Its Corporate and Public Relations Division head Mohd Azhar Mohd Sharif said that MBSA is the first local authority to implement the Shah Alam Traffic Masterplan (Satmas), covering an area of 30,310.72 hectares.
He said the proposed traffic management plan is divided into three implementation phases, namely short-term (2025), medium-term (2030), and long-term (2035).
“The Satmas study focuses on identifying the current traffic management situation, approving development plans, and providing related proposals to address traffic and public transportation issues.
“Satmas also aims to strengthen a comprehensive and effective traffic transportation system to connect urban centres.
“The criteria for traffic management include improving the use of existing facilities to meet the needs of road users, which includes safety aspects, environmental protection, and having easily adaptable designs,” he said in a statement.
On Thursday, the public dialogue session held at Wyndham Hotel Klang was officiated by acting mayor Cheremi Tarman.
Also present were state assemblymen Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim (Kota Damansara), Mariam Abdul Rashid (Meru), S Preakas (Kota Kemuning), and Shah Alam MP Azli Yusof.
