SHAH ALAM, Jan 3 — The waste collection in seven regions in Selangor is temporarily delayed due to damages caused by severe road conditions on KDEB Waste Management’s (KDEBWM) compactor lorries.

The state-owned waste management company said due to the road conditions at the Tanjung Dua Belas Sanitary Landfill in Sepang, it has directed KDEBWM’s subcontractors to temporarily transfer and dispose of the collected waste to another sanitary landfill while awaiting for further instructions.

“All collected waste will be transferred to and disposed of at the Jeram Sanitary Landfill, situated in Taman Seri Dua Belas at Kapar, Klang, during this interim period.

“Due to this, there will be delays and disruptions to the daily waste collection in several areas, including Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Ampang Jaya, Kuala Langat, Kajang, and Sepang,” its said in a statement.

KDEBWM expressed its sincerest apologies for any inconvenience resulting from the delay. It is working closely with Worldwide Landfills Sdn Bhd and the Selangor Public Works Department to resolve the issues and challenges at the Tanjung Dua Belas Sanitary Landfil as swiftly as possible.

“For further information or updates, please visit www.kdebwm.com or contact our Centralized Command Centre hotline at 1-800-88-2824,” it said.
