SHAH ALAM, Feb 6 — i-City is set to host the Ethnic Unity Festival on February 17 and 18, in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.

In a statement, it said the event organised by the National Unity Ministry is aimed at fostering ethnic unity in Malaysia, in line with the Federal government’s Malaysia Madani concept.

i-City director Minoca Ong said the festival is a part of the one-month Chinese New Year celebration at the ‘City of Digital Lights’.

Two main events scheduled for the festival are a spectacular fireworks display at 8pm on February 17 and a Unity Walk at 7am the next morning.

Ong said the event will also feature activities such as self-defence demonstrations, fashion shows, outdoor cinema and cultural performances.

“During the one-month period, visitors will enjoy the sights and sounds of the festive atmosphere, while exploring new rides and attractions such as Digital Sports Arena, Immersive Winterland and Race Karting, among others,” she said.

Ong added that several exciting events are also lined up, including acrobatic lion and dragon dance performances on February 11 and 24, 2024 and the opening of new mini attractions.

There will also be a ‘God of Prosperity walkabout’, where oranges and free entry tickets to the Red Carpet 2 wax museum will be given out.
